Walks around the Brittas area

Whether you are interested in a walk with the family, a cross county hike, or just to take the dog out, there are some lovely walks in and around the Brittas area, with some stunning scenery. So why not get out, and get active.

Slievethould Trail

The first walk to mention is in the Slade Woods. There are a few entrances into it where you can join a loop that conveniently will bring you back to where you started. It's all on gravel track so easy to follow, with some lovely views of surrounding area.

Coolmine Covert

The second walk is a little further down the same road, just after the Slade Valley Golf Club, but on the opposite side of the road.  You can access from Lugg Road and walk through to Lugg Forest. Nice walks and trails, plus some interesting areas if you wander off the main tracks.

Reservoir Walk

Over on the Bohernabreena side of Brittas, there are some really interesting walks around the reservoirs and the Waterworks. You can start at the top and walk down alongside the reservoir, or start at the bottom (where there is a small carpark) and walk up. Whatever you choose, it'll be an enjoyable walk.

We know there are many more walks in the area, so could you please share any interesting walks you know of and we can add to this page. Just send some basic details and location and that should be enough: webmaster@brittascommunity.com
